Love is in the Air: Galentine’s Day

February is a month that some females love, while others dread. It can be filled with romance or reminders of heartbreak and loneliness. This guide will show you how to make the most of February and focus on your relationships with your gal pals. Let’s be honest…gal pals ROCK! Truthfully, our gals are often the ones there for us before, during, and after the romance in our lives.

Galentine’s Day is the day before Valentine’s Day, February 13th. It’s a day for ladies to celebrate ladies. Although Empowered & Poised seeks to uplift women every day, this nonofficial holiday gives us one more reason to share love, support, and time with our besties!

Here is a list of fun activities to celebrate with your BFF’s:

1. Dinner Date!

Dress up in whatever outfit makes you feel most beautiful and go on a dinner date with all of your gal pals. One of Empowered & Poised favorite spots is Barrio! They have locations all around Cleveland, amazing custom tacos and endless supplies of queso! If you need a suggestion try a pulled pork taco on a green goddess shell. You won’t be disappointed! Good food, good friends, and confidence equal a fabulous night.

2. Throw a Galentine’s Day Party

Get your girls together to watch your favorite feel good movie! Have everyone bring a movie and binge all night long! If you wanted to invite Empowered and Poised to the party we’d probably bring copies of Moana or The Notebook. The best way to watch all the movies is with all the snacks. Ask your guest to bring something yummy too. Popcorn and Sour Patch Kids are a great combo but so is buffalo chicken dip and chips. The possibilities are endless. Above all else share with your girls. Put the phones down and talk about your dreams, passions and fondest memories together. You might find yourself having so much fun with your girls you forget about the movie!

3.Spa Day

If you have the means to go to the spa then by all means- do it! However, if you’re ballin’ on a budget or are a fan of DIY an at-home-spa day with your girls might be the move. You can paint each others nails and create your own face and hair treatments. Check out Pinterest to explore some neat ideas for DIY hair and face masks. We’re big fans of a good sugar scrub. All you need is sugar, coconut oil and essential oils. We like to use about a cup of sugar and ¾ cup of melted coconut oil. We mix them up in a mason jar with 5 drops of lavender oil and obviously share with the girls! The best part of an at home spa is being able to share home spa treatment ideas with your friends and taking home whatever you have leftover! Once you’ve got all your goodies made, lighting some delicious smelling candles and playing your favorite music can help to set the mood.

Happy Galentine’s Day to all of our Empowered & Poised gal pals out there! Remember that YOU ARE LOVED. YOU ARE WORTHY. & YOU ARE ENOUGH. Hugs to all of you.

XOXO, Empowered & Poised
